Michael “Mike” John Kindle, 76, of Lewistown, OH passed away Wednesday evening, September 13, 2023, at his home with his family by his side.
Mike was born on July 23, 1947, in Kenton, OH, a son of the late Jack John Kindle and Effie Blanche Louise Legge Williams. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Elwood Williams, and six siblings, Elmer, Bob, Jack, Short, Chuck, and Wayne.
Mike married Pat McGee on September 30, 1967, in Lewistown, and she survives. He is also survived by four children, Kimberly Michelle (Ron Green) Whaley of Lakeview, OH, Kristie June Hurless of Russells Point, OH, James Michael Kindle of Bloom Center, OH, and Tina Louise (Frank Ludwig) Kindle of Pasco, OH, 11 grandchildren, Patty, Tasha, Teather, Ashley, Wendell, Jeff, Cody, Kyle, Mason, Jazmine, and Aaron, 15 great grandchildren, a brother, Joe Kindle of Huntsville, OH, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mike attended Indian Lake Schools. He worked at Logan Finishing in Lakeview, Amtek in Wapakoneta, and Clean Again in Lakeview, retiring in 2015. Mike was a member of Sons of Amvets Post #39 and Indian Lake Eagles #3615, both in Lakeview. Mike had a keen wit and great sense of humor, loved entertaining family and friends, and telling jokes. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan, and enjoyed hunting, working on cars, playing cornhole, and riding 4-wheelers.
Funeral services will be 4:00 pm, Monday, September 18, 2023, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview with visitation from 11 am -1 pm, and 2-4 pm on Monday. Inurnment will be in Huntsville Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be given in Mike’s memory to Parkinson’s Foundation or St. Rita’s Hospice.
