A Bellefontaine man reportedly succumbed to his injuries sustained in a crash Thursday, Sept. 7.
Franklin D. Craig, 90, passed away Saturday, Sept. 9, at St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima, his family reports.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office previously reported he was transported by Bellefontaine Fire and EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of serious injuries sustained in the 1:50 p.m. crash.
Deputies said Craig was operating a northbound 2007 Ford Explorer on U.S. Route 68 near County Road 57 when the vehicle went off the west side of the road, striking a guardrail. The sport utility vehicle then overturned onto its side, completing two rotations before coming to a final rest on the east side of the guardrail.

Damage was heavy to the SUV, which was towed from the scene. U.S. 68 was closed down temporarily due to the accident, deputies said.

This is the fifth fatal crash in Logan County this year.
