Patricia J. “Pat” Blinn, 78, of Marysville, died Thursday afternoon at Ohio State University East Hospital in Columbus surrounded by her family.

Pat was born November 3, 1944, in Columbus to the late Oscar G. and Leona E.A. (Thiergartner) Scheiderer. She was baptized November 19, 1944, at her beloved St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was also confirmed on April 14, 1957. A 1962 graduate of Fairbanks High School, she furthered her education at Columbus University, graduating in 1964 with administrative assistant training. Through her working years, she worked for multiple Union County businesses such as O.M Scotts & Sons in their computer department, a clerk for Scheiderer’s Short Stop, a teller for Huntington Bank, and then she retired from the financial department at Memorial Hospital.

Pat held a great love for volunteering, and donated her time as the treasurer for the ILDC at Indian Lake, as secretary and treasurer for the Indian Lake Holiday Shores, the Red Cross Blood Mobile, the Memorial Hospital Wellness Center, as well as a poll worker at the Union County Board of Elections. Though she loved her jobs and her volunteer work, she relished the time spent with her family and friends. Her volunteer work at Indian Lake sprung from her love for boating and fishing there with her husband, Larry. She also enjoyed baking, and avidly followed the Ohio State University Football and Basketball programs as well as the Cleveland Guardians baseball team.

She fell in love with and married her best friend, Larry W. Blinn, May 23, 1970, and they shared 53 devoted years together. She is survived by her husband, Larry; children Tim (Melissa) Blinn and Mark (Cindy Eads) Blinn; grandchildren Joshua Blinn, Heather Blinn, Dustin (Sam) Blinn, Mark Blinn Jr. & Alycia Plank; great grandchildren Celine Blinn, Eliza Blinn, Jace Blinn and Kade Blinn; son-in-law Ron Rice; sister & brother-in-law Kathy and David Picklesimer; special aunt MaeEtta Thiergartner; nieces April (Jimmy) Foley, Amy (Chad) Sines, Amber (Ken) Holdt & Annette (Tom) Zientek; and many beloved cousins and extended family members.

Along with her parents, Pat was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Rice; an infant sister Julia Ann Scheiderer; and her brother Richard L. Scheiderer.

Calling hours will be 4-7 pm Monday, August 14, at Ingram Funeral Home, 975 N. Maple St., Marysville.
