The Holland Theatre welcomes performers from to major stars to the local professional theater troupe for a summertime finale of music, comedy and theater.

Church Basement Ladies, a warmhearted musical from Windmill Productions, is presented at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, and a 2 p.m. matinee Sunday, Aug. 6.

A celebration of the church basement kitchen and the women who work there, this musical comedy follows four distinct characters and their relationships. With heart and humor, the women organize the food and solve the problems of a rural Minnesota church about to undergo changes in 1965.

Bluegrass and folk by way of Northern Ireland, Cup O’ Joe takes the Holland stage at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8.

Cup O’ Joe features the tight sibling harmonies and dazzling musicanship of Tabitha, Benjamin and Reuben Agnew, plus Tabitha’s husband David Benedict.

The band’s unique mix of original compositions and re-imagined traditional songs paired with exciting live performances have led to growing acclaim in the acoustic music scene in Europe and beyond.

“Pauly Shore: Stick with the Dancing” on Thursday, Aug. 17, is a trip down memory lane with the popular comedian and actor. This show is sold out.

Shore presents his new autobiographical show at the Holland. In this hilarious, intimate evening, he’ll revisit his childhood at the Comedy Store, career ups and downs, and the roller coaster of Beverly Hills High School, MTV days, opening for Sam Kinison and much more.

Finally, the founder of the legendary folk rock band The Byrds, shares music and memories during “An Evening with Roger McGuinn” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19.
As front man of The Byrds, Roger McGuinn was on the leading edge of that era, with hits from “Eight Miles High” to “Mr. Tambourine Man.”

McGuinn later went on to a solo career, exploring his folk roots and rock sensibilities and collaborating with artists including Tom Petty and Elvis Costello.

The musician was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for his work with the Byrds. This concert will be a rich reminder of the many contributions of this musical legend.
