Mary Lee Pummell, 73, of Lakeview, passed away at 8:08 a.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023, at Logan Acres Care Center. She was born in Eveleth, Minnesota on November 23, 1949, to the late William Henry and Marcella Ann (Connors) Homola. On December 4, 1968, she married the late Max Lee Pummell.
She is survived by two sons: William (Melinda) Pummell and James (Betty Gibson) Pummell; four grandchildren: RJ Pummell, Ashley Pummell, Justin Pummell, and Mallory Pummell; two sisters: Cathleen (Thomas) Lautigar and Nancy (Michael) Ralson; a brother, John Homola; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. A daughter, Cherie L. Pummell; granddaughter, Elizabeth Pummell and sister-in-law, Pam Homola preceded her in death.
Mary was a life member of the Wapakoneta VFW 8445-Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Traumatic Brain Injury Support Group and served as a poll worker for the board of elections.
Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Visitation will be Friday, July 28, 2023, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Huntsville Cemetery.
