Driver Leiann N. Campbell, 18, of Sidney, and her passenger, John F. Manning, 41, of DeGraff, each were transported by Riverside EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected serious injuries sustained in a crash Wednesday, July 19.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report Adam J. Cahoon, 23, of Urbana, was operating a westbound 2006 Buick Rendezvous on State Route 47 about 3:30 p.m. And attempted to turn left onto County Road 35, failing to yield to an eastbound 2003 BMW 325CI operated by Campbell.
The BMW then struck the rear passenger side of the Buick, causing heavy damage to both vehicles.
Cahoon did not report any injuries and he was cited for failure to yield the right of way when turning left. All of the drivers were wearing their seat belts.
• Jacklyn R. Kidder, 44, of Jackson Center, was transported by Huntsville EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries sustained in a crash about 10:05 a.m. Wednesday.
Deputies report Michael L. Newman, 72, of Simpsonville, S.C., was operating an southbound 2011 Nissan Altima on State Route 274 and failed to stop at the stop sign at County Road 39. His vehicle struck an eastbound 2009 Lincoln Mark operated by Kidder.
Damage was heavy to both vehicles, which were towed from the scene. Newman was cited for a stop sign violation, and he did not report any injuries.
• Virginia E. Brown, 19, of Kenton, reported possible injuries in a crash Tuesday, July 18, related to brake failure of her vehicle.
Deputies report she was operating a westbound Volvo S40 on S.R. 274 near C.R. 39 about 3:55 p.m. She reportedly lost control of the vehicle in the curve because of vehicle brake failure and went off the road, striking a tree.
Damage was heavy to the car, which was towed from the scene. No citations were issued in the crash and the driver was wearing her seat belt.
