William Richard Thomas, 79, of Bellefontaine passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on Monday June 26, 2023 at Logan Acres Care Center.

He was born December 28, 1943 in Grove City, Ohio to the late Ira & Florence (O’Harra) Thomas. Bill was an Agriculture and Dairy Farmer in Logan County for over 50 years. He worked at Rockwell for 7 years in Bellefontaine before leaving to farm full-time.

Survivors include his wife Anna C. (Werst) Thomas; son William “Rick” (Keri) Thomas; daughters Laura (Barry) Wolf, Jennifer & (Mike Loverde) Crowl; 6 Grandchildren; Erik (Erin) Thomas, Kylie Crowl, Brady (Mia) Thomas, Hayley Fannin, McKenzie Fannin, Darby (Justin) Dallas; and 1 Great Grandson, Thraine Dallas.

Over the years, Bill enjoyed coaching girls’ softball, being a 4-H advisor and attending grandkids ball games. He also enjoyed weekly Sunday dinners with his family especially if OSU, Cleveland Browns or Cleveland Guardians were playing .

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira & Florence Thomas and all his siblings; Lillian Rice, Patricia Hoodlet, John Thomas and Donald Thomas.

Family Friend Linda Sparks will officiate a funeral service 1 p.m. Saturday, July 1, at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home and Crematory, 5591 U.S. Route 68 S., West Liberty, Ohio 43357.
