Floyd M. Fields, 79, of Bellefontaine passed away Monday, June 26, 2023 at Mary Rutan Hospital.

Floyd was born September 14, 1943 in Bellefontaine to the late Paul D. and Pauline (McClain) Fields. On October 1, 1977 in Bellefontaine he married the love of his life Margaret “Peg” McLaughlin, who survives.

Floyd honorably served his county in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He later retired after 30 years of dedicated work from Super Foods. He enjoyed many things in life including: Stock Car Racing at Shady Bowl and anywhere he could find a race, playing blackjack at any casino, wintering in Florida and playing cards with friends in Florida and Ohio. Floyd thought highly of his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his nieces and nephews. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Peg Fields; daughter, Tambra “Tammy” Fields; son, Paul “Doug” Fields; grandsons, Michael Wolford, Shawn Pope, Nick Bishop and Micah Fields; great grandchildren, Sierra, Gabby, Zarah, Alethia and Jackson; sisters, Peggy Creamer and Marie Wright; many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by brother, Raymond Fields; sisters, Mildred Beaty and Rosemary Romine.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice or visit your nearest blackjack table in his memory.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 30, 2023 at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
