Registration is now open for this year’s free Hooked on Jesus Youth Fishing Event, slated for 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 5, at the Romans 1:20 Christian Retreat & Environmental Education Center, 1041 N. County Road 142, West Mansfield.
Children ages 6–12 will visit stations that teach them how to set up their fishing poles, cast, identify fish, learn about fish habitat and discover the best “Fisher of Men” of all times.
All participants will receive a new fishing rod, reel, lures and more. Kids can then try out their new skills by fishing at the two stocked ponds at Romans 1:20.
There is no cost to attend, but pre-registration is required. The program is limited to 50 youths.
