James “Jim” Van Ness, 83, of Bellefontaine passed away Monday, June 5, 2023 at Mary Rutan Hospital.
He was born December 7, 1939 in Bellefontaine the son of Charles and Mary (Skinner) Van Ness.
He retired as a group leader, from DAB after 42 years of service. After retirement he delivered flowers for Wren’s Florist and Greenhouses. He often commented that it was his favorite job because people were happy to see him.
He served as Lake Township zoning officer with over ten years of service and served as a docent for the Logan County Historical Society for many years. He was an avid car and motorcyclist enthusiast.
Survivors include his wife, Tamara; children, Jill (Bill Kellogg) Hill Kelly (Bill) Johnson; grandchildren Michelle (Jeff) Puder, Landyn (Britney) Hill, Conner (Jandra) Hill, Tanner (Lisa Chavez) Johnson Taryn (Eli Howard) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Evan Puder, Nolan Puder, JT Hill, Theo Hill, Mac Hill; sister Kathleen (Russ) McDonald; brother-in-law Ronald (Linda) Coleman.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon Saturday, June 10, at Jennings Farley and Seeley Funeral Home, 5591 U.S. Route 68 S. West Liberty 43357.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service.
