Bus driver retiree achieves perfect attendance accolades
Benjamin Logan bus driver Jim Stoodt was recognized in front of the entire district staff Tuesday, May 30, for never missing a day of work in his nine years as a bus driver.
He received a commendation for his service during the end of year staff breakfast. Jim is retiring after driving for Benjamin Logan for the last nine years and 10 total years working as a bus driver.
“Bus drivers are often the first and last district employees to see our students every day,” Superintendent John Scheu said.
“After nine years of outstanding service, the district is proud to recognize Jim Stoodt for having perfect attendance driving his bus since his first day behind the wheel.”
Stoodt received an engraved clock as a small token of appreciation for his commendable attendance, as well as a rocking chair for his retirement.
Among the retirees, the following individuals were also recognized for years of service and retirement: Susan Ridge, school counselor, 35 years total, all at Benjamin Logan; Lynn Ware, central office/EMIS coordinator, 26 years, 14 in the district; Doug Rutan, physical education teacher, 33 years, 28 in the district; and John Forrest, bus driver, 14 years, all at Benjamin Logan.
“These individuals have worked hard for so many years. They deserve to relax. This morning was an opportunity to thank each of them for their devotion to Benjamin Logan Schools,” said Sally Stolly, director of administrative services.
