Bellefontaine’s boys tennis team saw its season come to a close Thursday in the Division II district tournament in Mason.
The Chiefs had three of their players in the field.
In singles play, Bellefontaine’s Truman Howell was defeated by two-time state qualifier Will Stephens of Mariemont 6-0, 6-0.
The Chiefs’ doubles team of Drew Phillips and Trey Taylor was defeated by former state qualifier Arick Baldwin and Noah Boyce of Oakwood 6-0, 6-0.
For the season, Howell went 17-10, Xavier Sims was 21-3 and Max Fissel was 7-4 in singles action for the Chiefs.
Phillips and Taylor set a new school record with 22 doubles wins against just four losses.
The Chiefs’ other doubles team of Elias Abrego and Bryce Harris compiled a season mark of 15-7.
As a team, Bellefontaine turned in record of 17-4 and shared the Central Buckeye Conference title.
