Margaret Arlean Donohue, 89, of Lakeview, OH passed away Sunday night, May 14, 2023, at Logan Acres Care Center, Bellefontaine, OH.
Margaret was born on July 3, 1933, in Morrisdale, PA, a daughter of the late George and Margaret Lloyd Green. She married Lawrence Donohue in Indiana on June 19, 1964, and he preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Linda Donohue and brother, Jim Green.
Arlean is survived by a stepdaughter, Barbara (Bruce) Cary of Tipton, IA, four grandchildren, Brad Cary, Seth Cary, Zachary Bush, and Matthew Bush, four great grandchildren, Hannah Cary, Ella Cary, Landon Cary, and Jacob Cary and son-in-law, Bob Bush of Truckee, CA.
Arlean was a graduate of Morrisdale Township High School. She worked at Steel Products Engineering and Fry Construction, both in Springfield, OH. Arlean was very talented, affectionately known as “The Maker” by her great granddaughter, Hannah, she crocheted, sewed, made ceramics and many different crafts. She was also a “green thumb” growing many varieties of plants and flowers including her beloved Christmas Cacti. She also loved music and was an accomplished pianist.
Arlean enjoyed traveling the United States and abroad, taking Amtrak cross country and hiking the Great Wall of China. She loved spending time with her family in Iowa and California and was always up for an adventure including snowmobiling with her grandsons. Arlean was very personable, had a great sense of humor and made friends easily. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Family graveside services will be held this summer in Tipton, IA.
