Susan B. Winiger, 57, of 12660 County Road 153, East Liberty, was charged with domestic violence and aggravated menacing related to an incident Monday, May 15, at her residence.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to her address about 3:55 p.m. on a report of a domestic complaint. Her ex-husband said Winiger had a knife, had been drinking that day and made threats toward him.
Her ex-husband left the residence and met deputies in the area of Darby Creek Drive and C.R. 153. He reported that Winiger had woken him up from a nap and was holding a small steak knife, and stated she began making threats.
Deputies went to the address and spoke with the defendant, who denied that a knife was involved in the altercation. She admitted to drinking about five beers that day.
However, deputies said they located a small steak knife on a bed in a bedroom. Winiger was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail.
• Justin L. Wilson, 37, of Kenton, was charged with domestic violence Tuesday, May 16, related to an incident at a residence in the 3400 block of east State Route 273, Rushsylvania.
Deputies responded to the residence Monday evening about 11:55 p.m. on a complaint from a female victim, stating Wilson had been at her residence and had struck her in the face and kicked her in the ribs multiple times. Deputies also noted that her nose was bleeding.
She believed Wilson was “high on meth” and was upset that he could not find his “stuff.” He then left the residence.
EMS personnel checked the woman at the scene and she reportedly refused to be transported to the hospital.
About 7 a.m., the woman reported that Wilson was back at her residence and he was still acting hostile. He reportedly was yelling at her and throwing items around, including throwing medication in the grass.
Deputies placed Wilson under arrest and transported him to the jail.
Driver transported from S.R. 47 crash
Kelsie M. Shimizu, 30, of West Mansfield, was transported by Rushcreek EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected serious injuries sustained in a crash Monday.
Deputies report she was operating an eastbound 2023 Honda HR-V On State Route 47 near County Road 5 about 7:20 a.m. when she went off the right side of the road, striking a ditch and two trees and the vehicle overturned onto its top.
Damage was heavy to the sport utility vehicle, which was towed from the scene.
Shimizu was cited for failure to control and she was wearing her seat belt. Deputies said she was fatigued/fell asleep at the time of the crash.
