Election turnout low at 9.87 percent

A total of 3,138 ballots were cast for the Tuesday, May 2, Primary Election, representing about 9.87 percent of the total registered voters in Logan County, the Logan County Board of Elections reports.

Tuesday’s election was headlined by contested races for the offices of Bellefontaine Municipal Court Judge and mayor of the city of Bellefontaine, but also featured some levy requests from local villages and townships. 

Approximately 36 percent of registered Logan County Republicans cast ballots in the election, combining to send a local attorney to the judge’s bench and unseat the incumbent city mayor.
