A new Residence Hall called the “Orchard Barn” will be dedicated at Marmon Valley Farm during a special event planned for Sunday, May 7, at the 7754 S. State Route 292, Zanesfield, facility.

Open house tours are from 2 to 3 p.m., with the official Logan County Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting ceremony slated for 2:30 pm.

The new Orchard Barn replaces the 100-year-old Hog Barn with bunk rooms, restrooms and showers.

With more than 150 horses on site, Marmon Valley Farm operates the largest Christian horse camp in Ohio.

“The expansion was necessary to accommodate the large waiting list every summer and allow more youth to experience an unplugged week of ‘life on the farm,’” representatives said in a press release.

In addition to summer camps, the year-round agri-tourism locale features public trail rides, riding lessons, school tours, scouting groups, birthday parties, riding lessons, challenge course, rope climbing wall and a petting zoo featuring llama, sheep, miniature horses, donkeys, goats, rabbits, chickens, pigs, peacocks, fallow deer and kittens.
