Fogan pitches Bellefontaine past London

Bellefontaine’s baseball team earned a 5-2 victory over visiting London in a Central Buckeye Conference baseball game Monday afternoon.

The Chiefs improve to 6-7 overall and 3-6 in the CBC. London falls to 5-12, 4-6.

London took a 1-0 lead with a run in the top of the second inning, but Bellefontaine answered with three runs in the bottom of the second for a 3-1 advantage.

Bellefontaine increased its lead to 4-1 with a run in the third and the Chiefs added another run in the fifth for a 5-1 advantage.

London scored once in the sixth to make the score 5-2.

Chris Fogan earned the win on the mound for the Chiefs. He allowed two hits and one run over five innings while striking out 12.

Fogan also provided an impact at the plate with a three-run home run.

Keyon Collier added three hits for the Chiefs.

Bellefontaine will be back on the diamond today at Indian Lake for a makeup game.

Tigers edged by Fairbanks

Fairbanks needed just one run to earn a victory over visiting West Liberty-Salem on Monday in Ohio Heritage Conference play.

The Panthers scored the game’s lone run in the third inning.

Both teams had three hits on the day.

The Tigers return to action today at home against Triad.

Northeastern upends Cardinals

Host Triad was unable to hold onto the lead Monday in a 6-4 loss to Northeastern in Ohio Heritage Conference baseball action.

The Cardinals slip to 3-10 overall and 3-5 in the OHC. Northeastern improves to 9-8, 7-4.

Northeastern grabbed an early 2-0 lead, but Triad plated three runs in the bottom of the second inning to move in front 3-2.

The Jets tied the game with a run in the fourth before Triad took a 4-3 lead with a run in the fifth frame.

Northeastern put three runs on the scoreboard in the top of the seventh to take the lead for good.

Jayden Blackburn and Russell House each had an RBI for the Cardinals.

Triad plays at West Liberty-Salem today.
