Raymond W. Titus, 95, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 7:38 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, in Logan Acres Care Center, Bellefontaine.
He was born in Rush Creek Township in Logan County, Ohio on July 18, 1927, the son of the late Knowles and Winnie (Dixon) Titus. He is also preceded in death by all of his eight siblings that included seven brothers: Ronald, Russell, Warren, Glenno, Malcolm, Leonard, and Daryl Titus and one sister, Berdena Taylor.
He is survived by a son, Kerry D. (Barbara) Titus of Urbana, and a daughter, Marilyn J. (Daniel) Fuhrman of Ponte Vedra, FL, seven grandchildren: Joshua (Melissa) Titus, Justin (Destiny) Titus, Jeremy (Erin) Titus, Blake (Evelyn) St. Clair, Kyle (Jacqueline) St. Clair, Marcus (Patricia) St. Clair, and Carly (Darryl) Wood, five step grandchildren: Amy, Todd, Ryan, Matt, and Hannah, 22 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Everetta Titus of Bellefontaine and Phyllis Titus of Dayton and many nieces and nephews.
Raymond was a U.S. Army Veteran and worked 35 years at D.A.B. in Bellefontaine as an Inspector Supervisor, retiring in 1987. He was a former member of Stoney Creek Church of the Brethren, where he was a longtime treasurer and choir member. He later attended the Bellefontaine First Christian Church, Bellefontaine where he also sang in the choir. He also sang in the Logannairs Barber Shop Chorus and was a member of the Society for The Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America (SPEBSQSA). Raymond also served on the Harrison Twp. Zoning Board for 30+ years and he and his wife, Nadine, loved to travel, traveling to all 50 states, Europe and Canada. He spent a lot of time cooking and playing cards at the Logan County Friendly Senior Center.
Reverend Kevin Greenwald will officiate a funeral service on Monday, April 24, at 11 a.m. in Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311. Friends may call two hours prior to the service on Monday from 9 until 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Harper Cemetery with military honors provided by the Logan County Veteran Honor Guard.
