Ruth A. Wallace, 83, of Bellefontaine passed away Monday, April 17, 2023, at Mt. Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville.
Ruth was born December 19, 1939 in Bellefontaine to the late Marvin and Jennie (Detrick) Shoffner. On July, 19, 1957 she married the love of her life Raymond Junior Wallace, who preceded her in death in 2015.
Ruth was a cook for the Bellefontaine City Schools and JVS for many years. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, puzzles, reading and she was a lifelong Star Trek fan. Ruth loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She also loved having her family out for gatherings and holidays; even though at times it may have taken her “family famous” beef and noodles to get them to her house. Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Ringler; sons, Michael (Tami) Wallace and Richard Wallace; grandchildren, Phillip Wallace, Sarah Lightle, Michelle Wissink, Michael Ringler, Joy Oliver, Karen Overbey and Sherry Street; 13 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren; a special family friend and caregiver, who was like a daughter to Ruth; Donna Weeks.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Raymond Junior Wallace; son-in-law, Bill Ringler.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place Sunday, April 23, at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory from noon until 2 p.m. Burial of ashes will take place in Highland Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice or your local animal shelter.
