Indian Lake unable to hang on vs. JA

Indian Lake took the lead in the fifth inning but could not hang onto it Friday as host Jonathan Alder rallied for a 7-5 victory in a Central Buckeye Conference baseball game.

The Lakers are now 7-3 overall and 5-2 in the CBC. Alder improves to 10-0, 7-0.

The Pioneers scored a run in the bottom of the first inning and put three runs on the scoreboard in the fourth to make it 4-0.

Indian Lake jumped ahead with five runs in the top of the fifth.

However, the Pioneers answered with three runs in the bottom of the fifth and held the Lakers scoreless over the final two frames.

The Lakers managed just three hits.

Chase Baldwin had a double and two RBI to lead the IL offense.

Indian Lake is back in action Monday at Graham.

Raiders lose to Arrows

Benjamin Logan’s offense could not get on the scoreboard Friday as the Raiders lost to host Tecumseh 7-0 in a Central Buckeye Conference baseball game.

The Raiders are now 1-8 overall and 1-6 in the CBC. The Arrows improve to 5-7, 4-2.

Tecumseh scored a run in the first inning and then plated six more runs in the fifth inning to take control.

Ben Logan returns to action today at home for the Micah Gregg Tournament.

Lakers edge WL-S

Indian Lake held on for a 5-4 win over visiting West Liberty-Salem in a non-league baseball game Thursday.

The Tigers led 3-1 after two innings, but the Lakers answered with two runs in the third and two in the fourth to move in front 5-3.

WL-S scored another run in the sixth, but could not get any closer.

Madden Lillard went five innings on the mound to get the win for the Tigers. HE allowed seven hits, four earned runs and struck out one.

Chase Baldwin threw a pair of scoreless innings to get the save. He allowed one hit and struck out three.

Baldwin was 2-3 with a double to lead the IL offense.

Jeremiah Johnson was 3-3 to lead the Tigers at the plate.

Pirates blank Bulldogs

Riverside’s baseball team shut out host Milton-Union 10-0 in five innings in a Three Rivers Conference game Thursday.

The Pirates are now 6-8 overall and 4-3 in the TRC.

Riverside scored one run in the first inning, one in the third and two in the fourth to lead 4-0.

The Pirates piled up six runs in the fifth to put the game away.

Zander Crouch was the winning pitcher. He allowed two hits and struck out six in five innings.

Offensively for Riverside, Gavin Orsborne went 3-4 with three RBI and Crouch, Warren Shockey and Simon Godwin had two hits apiece.

The Pirates play at Northwestern today.
