Lana Switzer, business director at the Logan County Board of Developmental Disabilities, announced during the board’s April meeting that she will be retiring from her position, effective June 1.

Switzer has served with the LCBDD for 11 years. Prior to that, she was a business director at the Boards of Developmental Disabilities in Ashland and Marion counties for a total of 10 years.

She also worked as Business Manager and other Fiscal Agent roles with the State of Ohio for 12 years prior to being in the developmental disabilities field.

“I have been truly blessed to finish out my long public service career with such a kind and caring organization that does such wonderful things for people with disabilities in Logan County,” Switzer said.

“I’m proud to have served on the board’s executive staff and to have successfully managed and guided the board in all financial and information technology matters over the last 11 years.

“I’m looking forward to my next phase in life by continuing to work in the field of developmental disabilities, closer to home and being a new wife and grandmother. I am confident the organization will be left in good hands with the new Superintendent Krista Oldiges, and the amazing caring staff who serve people with disabilities every day.”

The superintendent and the board expressed appreciation to Switzer for her 33 years of dedicated public service, particularly her time here in Logan County.

“She has played a critical role in making sure that LCBDD is fiscally responsible and that funds are available for crucial services and supports to people with disabilities in Logan County,” officials said in a release. “We wish her the best of luck in her retirement and all future endeavors.”

Also during the meeting, Oldiges reported that the agency will be working with Berry Digital Solutions to update the agency’s website. The goal is to make the site more functional and easier to navigate for anyone looking for information about services.

The LCBDD’s management team recently participated in a leadership training that will continue strengthening the executive functions of the agency.
