Teddy J. Mackesy, 46, of 190 Market St., Lakeview, was charged with domestic violence and his live-in girlfriend, Maria L. Jones, 47, was charged with disorderly conduct related to an incident at their residence Sunday evening, March 5.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the residence about 7:50 p.m.
Mackesy told deputies that he had arrived home that day and Jones became irate, reportedly throwing a pan of eggs and bacon that Mackesy was making for their 12-year-old son.
Mackesy said Jones had been drinking alcohol all day and that nothing physical had occurred between the two.
However, Jones said during an argument, Mackesy had thrown her to the ground and began to choke her, after striking her in the face earlier. Deputies observed slight redness around her neck, but no other noticeable injuries.
Deputies also noticed that Mackesy was bleeding from his right elbow, which he said was a result of scab coming off a previous injury.
Both defendants were placed under arrest and were transported to the Logan County Jail. The 12-year-old was picked up by a family member at the residence.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department also assisted at the scene.
Possible injuries reported in rollover crash
Savanah L. Daniels, 16, of Rushsylvania, reported possible injuries in a crash about 4:50 p.m. Friday, March 3.
She was checked at the scene by Rushcreek EMS, but was not transported from the scene.
Deputies report she was operating a southbound 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe on County Road 5 near County Road 118 when she went off the right side of the road, striking a utility pole. The vehicle then overturned and struck the ditch.
Damage was heavy to the sport utility vehicle, which was towed from the scene. Savanah was cited for failure to control and was wearing her seat belt.
• Yvonne F. Smith, 86, of DeGraff, was cited for a stop sign violation related to a non-injury crash Sunday, March 5.
Deputies report Smith was operating an eastbound 2004 Honda Accord on County Road 58 about 11:20 a.m. and stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of County Road 21.
She then pulled into the path of a northbound 2010 Chrysler Town & Country operated by Amy L. Harford, 49, of Huber Heights, and struck the Harford vehicle.
Damage was moderate to the Smith vehicle and light to the Harford vehicle.
