Pirates unable to run with Bulldogs

Host Riverside fell down early and could not catch Milton-Union on Friday as the Bulldogs pulled away for a 62-45 victory in a Three Rivers Conference boys basketball game.

The Pirates drop to 6-15 overall and 2-12 in the TRC. Milton-Union improves to 12-10, 7-7.

The Bulldogs held a 17-13 lead after the first period and they led 27-18 at halftime.

Milton-Union maintained a nine-point cushion (44-35) after three quarters and outscored the Pirates 18-10 in the final period to wrap up the win.

Ayden Clary led the Pirates with nine points and five rebounds.

Kaleb Schindewolf had eight points and four rebounds, Myles Platfoot tallied six points, five steals and six rebounds, Warren Shockey had six points and five assists and Jaxon Woods had six points for Riverside.

In the junior varsity game, Riverside won 51-38. Reese Jenkins led the Pirates with 12 points, eight rebounds and three assists, Nate Copas had 15 points and 10 rebounds and Carter Kreglow added five points and 10 rebounds.

In the freshman game, Riverside lost 34-26. Hayden Sanford led the Pirates with 11 points and Blaine Shoe had five points.

The Pirates finish the regular season tonight at Jackson Center.
