Teen transported after her vehicle strikes guide wire

Bailee A. Stover, 17, of Zanesfield, was transported by Rushcreek EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries sustained in a crash Wednesday, Feb. 8.

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report she was operating an eastbound 2008 Honda CR-V on State Route 47 about 4:55 p.m. and then turned right onto Township Road 126. Her vehicle then overturned and traveled off the left side of the road, striking a guide wire.

Damage was heavy to the sport utility vehicle, which was towed from the scene. The driver was wearing her seat belt.

Upon follow-up at the hospital, Bailee reported to deputies that she swerved to miss a deer in the road. She was cited for failure to control.

Also assisting deputies at the scene were Bokescreek Township EMS and Rushcreek Township Fire Department.

• Carrie M. Varner, 52, of Delaware, Ohio, did not report any injuries after her vehicle struck a dog in the roadway on S.R. 47 near County Road 35 about 2:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Varner reportedly was operating a westbound 2021 Jeep Renegade when her vehicle struck the dog. Damage was moderate to the vehicle.

Deputies said the dog was dead upon their arrival and the owner was notified and given a verbal warning for dog at large.
