Terry D. “Tinker” Lookabaugh, 71, of Rushsylvania, passed away Monday morning, February 6, 2023, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.
Tinker was born in Marion County, Ohio, on July 5, 1951, to the late Earl and Enice W. (Bill) Lookabaugh. He was also preceded in death by a brother Jerry Lookabaugh, and his in-laws John and Carolyn Harvey.
Tinker is survived by his wife Janet (Harvey) Lookabaugh of Rushsylvania, whom he married on July 23, 1983. He is also survived by children: Terry Lookabaugh of Georgia, Tami Ludwig of Bellefontaine, Thad (Valerie) Lookabaugh of Orient, and Cody (Maggie) Lookabaugh of Rushsylvania; 4 grandchildren: Joe, Megan, Bo, and Cameron; a great-grandchild: Owen; sisters: Connie (Mark) Lusk, and Laura (George) Edington, both of Byhalia; a brother Larry (Edie) Lookabaugh of Zanesville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Tinker worked for 32 years in law enforcement with the Union and Logan County Sheriff’s Departments as a road deputy, canine handler, sergeant, lieutenant, and detective. He also worked as a Park Ranger for the Ohio State Parks. He loved his John Deere tractors and maintained his yard as if it were a golf course. Tinker enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and working in the family butcher shop.
Friends may call on Thursday, February 9, 2023, from 4-7pm at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine, where Pastor Chad Davis will officiate Tinker’s funeral on Friday, February 10, at 11am. Burial will be in Rushsylvania Cemetery.
