Senior Stephanie Altstaetter scored 10 points and collected 11 rebounds and three assists to lead host Indian Lake to a 52-42 victory over Urbana on Wednesday in a Central Buckeye Conference girls basketball game.
The Lakers improve their record to 8-12 overall and 4-6 in the CBC. The Hillclimbers fall to 14-6, 7-3.
With the victory, Indian Lake stopped a five-game winning streak for Urbana.
The Lakers turned in a stellar defensive effort, limiting Urbana standout Peyton Mounce to 10 points. She came in as the CBC’s leading scorer at 18.7 points per game.
Indian Lake emerged from the first period with an 11-5 lead. The Lakers went on to lead 23-17 at halftime.
The Lakers pushed their advantage to 11 points (41-30) after three quarter and they stayed in control in the final stanza to wrap up the win.
In addition to the big night from Altstaetter, the Lakers received 19 points from Mackenzie Dixon. She also had seven rebounds and four assists.
Allison Kinney added nine points for the Lakers.
Alex Dixon led the Hillclimbers with 17 points.
Indian Lake is back in action Saturday at home against Jackson Center.
