C. Glenn Gault III, 81, of West Liberty, Ohio, passed away on January 28, 2023, at the Southbrook Care Center in Springfield, Ohio. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 11, 1941, to the late Clarence Glenn II and Ileen (Fagan) Gault.

On January 5, 1963, he married his first wife, Lee Rose (Schatzel) Gault, and she preceded him in death on October 8, 1998. He is also preceded in death by their son, Shawn Gault.

On September 22, 2001, he married the former Diann Gordon and she survives. He is also survived by his children: William “Todd” (Jan) Gault and Christopher William Gault; stepchildren: Brian Miller, Amy (Brent) DeVore, and Sarah (Earon) Schmitz; grandchild, Alison Gault; step grandchildren: Shelby, Audrey, Carly, Emma, Carter, and Brynn; a sister, Terri (Glen) Sergent; brothers: Larry (Jean) Gault and Ed “Corky” (Tom Manning) Gault; his father-in-law, Donald Gordon; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was a 1960 graduate of Sycamore High School in Cincinnati and soon after he married Lee. In 1966 he joined the United States Army, having served in the 25th Infantry Division in Vietnam in 1967. During his tour there, Glenn received a life-altering open-head injury when hit by an enemy grenade. Because of these wounds he received a Bronze Star for meritorious achievement and a Purple Heart.

Following his action in the military, in 1971 adopted his son, Chris, and a year later welcomed a natural-born son, Todd. In 1974 he entered Urbana University and began classes, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1979. Continuing his education, Glenn received a Master of Science in Counseling from the University of Dayton in 1995. In the 5 years following, he served as the Logan County Veterans Service Officer. In 2004 Glenn answered a call to the ministry and, with his strong faith, graduated from United Theological Seminary in Dayton in 2008. He became a United Methodist Local Pastor in 2010, serving with the West Liberty United Methodist Church, and retired in 2017. Glenn also served as a chaplain at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio.

Glenn was a third-generation Mason and his son, Todd, is following his footsteps as a fourth-generation Mason, at the Mad River Lodge #161 in West Liberty, Ohio.

Visitation will be Friday, February 3, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the West Liberty United Methodist Church, 202 E Newell St, West Liberty, OH 43357, with a masonic service starting at 11:45. Reverend Edwin Beale will officiate a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Fairview West Liberty Cemetery, where military honors will be performed by the Logan County Honor Guard.
