Bellefontaine’s boys basketball team was unable to rally in the fourth quarter against host Tecumseh on Friday, losing 55-49 in a Central Buckeye Conference game.
The Chiefs drop to 9-9 overall and 2-5 in the CBC. Tecumseh improves to 7-12, 3-4.
Bellefontaine had to play from behind from the early going. The Chiefs trailed 15-11 after one quarter and faced a three-point deficit (28-25) at halftime.
Tecumseh pushed its lead to four points (39-35) after three quarters.
The Arrows outscored Bellefontaine 16-14 in the final period to wrap up the win.
Tavien St. Clair and Riley Neer each scored 10 points to lead the Chiefs. Keagon Overton-Story and C.J. Wilson added seven apiece.
Matt Linger scored a game-high 16 points for the Arrows.
In the junior varsity game, Bellefontaine lost 54-35. Patrick Stolly led the Chiefs with 14 points.
Bellefontaine’s freshman team lost to the Arrows 41-36.
Bellefontaine is back in action Tuesday at Jonathan Alder.
