Bellefontaine’s swim teams traveled to Sidney for their final dual meet of the season Sunday, with the girls beating the Yellow Jackets 143-123 and the boys finishing in a 122-122 tie.
The Lady Chieftains were led by two inning relays. Those included the medley relay team of Maddie Ullom, Elaina Ullom, Morgan Henry and Joslyn Robinson and the 400 freestyle relay team of Robinson, Elaina Ullom, Kate Myers and Olivia Ullom.
Winning individual events for the BHS girls were Olivia Ullom in the 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke, Robinson in the 200 IM, Henry in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke and Ashton Carey in the 500 freestyle.
Finishing second for the Chiefs were the 200 freestyle relay team of Olivia Ullom, Carey, Zoey Rister and Henry, Myers in the 200 freestyle, Robinson in the 100 freestyle and Elaina Ullom in the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke.
Adding third-place efforts were the medley B relay tam of Myers, Carey, Kaeleigh Flora and Rister, Myers in the 100 backstroke, Flora in the 200 IM and Alexis Buffkin in the 500 freestyle.
For the boys team, the medley relay team of Blake McDonald, Aidan Mifsud, Elias Abrego and John Fulmer finished first.
Getting individual wins were Abrego in the 200 freestyle, Nolan Core in the 100 butterfly, Cooper Harman in the 500 freestyle and Cody Hudson in the 100 breaststroke.
Taking second were the medley B relay team of Beckham Harman, Hudson, Cooper Harman and Devin George, the 200 freestyle relay team of Mifsud, Core, Abrego and McDonald, Core in the 200 freestyle, Mifsud in the 200 IM and 100 freestyle and McDonald in the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke.
Adding third-place efforts for the Chieftain boys were Abrego in the 100 freestyle,
Fulmer in the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke and Alexander in the 500 freestyle.
“It was good to get our swimmers back in competition,” said BHS head coach Sharon Lewis. “We took this opportunity to try some different relay combinations and try some new events for a few of our swimmers.”
The Chiefs are back in action at the Central Buckeye Conference meet this weekend in Trotwood.
