BellefontainePolice Patch-200Kody Fown, 22, of Millsport, was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia after he was observed Saturday in the rear of his parked car with a 15-year-old girl.

Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department on patrol found the suspect’s car parked and idling without its lights on around 6:45 p.m. Saturday in Southview Park.

The park closes at dusk and officers approached the vehicle and observed Fown in the back seat of his car without his shirt on, along with a female that police would later learn was 15 years old.

The teenage girl originally misled police, providing them a false name and telling officers she was 18 years old. The pair reportedly met on a dating app, had known each other for about a week and met in person Saturday for the second time.

Officers reported a smell of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle and found the drug and paraphernalia upon a search of the car. Fown also had in his possession a handgun that was stored with the marijuana.

The juvenile eventually told officers her real name and admitted that she was 15 years old. She was charged with obstructing official business and was released to her grandparents.

Fown was lodged in Logan County Jail.

The report was forwarded to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
