It was a great weekend for Bellefontaine’s boys basketball team.
After a gritty overtime win over Kenton Ridge on Friday, the Chiefs handled visiting Sidney 60-51 in a non-league game Saturday night.
Bellefontaine is now 6-5 on the season.
The Yellow Jackets are also 6-5. The Chiefs have won four out of their last five games.
As has been the trend for the Chiefs, it was a balanced scoring attack Saturday.
C.J. Wilson scored a game-high 22 points. Carter Snapp, Kaden Reames and Tavien St. Clair had nine points apiece and Jacob Salyer chipped in five points.
The Chiefs battled to a 16-13 lead after one quarter. Bellefontaine built a 10-point cushion (30-20) at halftime.
Bellefontaine led by eight points (42-34) after three quarters and stayed in control in the fourth period to wrap up the win.
In the junior varsity game Saturday, Bellefontaine fell 51-35. Alex Crabill led the Chiefs with 11 points.
Bellefontaine’s freshman team won 61-26. Grayson Lotts led the Chiefs with 20 points and Jair Mundy had 14 points.
The Chiefs are back in action Tuesday at Urbana.
