A Wednesday morning fire damaged a local wedding and event venue.
Firefighters from DeGraff, Quincy and Bellefontaine responded to a blaze at the Winner Harvest Barn, 7317 State Route 47, DeGraff.
Property owner Renee Winner said she returned home from church about 9:30 a.m. and went to the barn to check the temperature of a pool set up inside the structure for her grandchildren. Winner said she smelled smoke and could see the metal ceiling buckling from the heat when she entered the building.
One of the Winners’ employees contacted the fire department.
No injuries were reported.
Winner said she believes an electrical issue started the fire. Damage is estimated at around $20,000.
Winner said the fire should not interfere with business operations. She said work to repair the damages will begin quickly and there should be “no problem” getting repairs and clean up done before scheduled and booked events in March.
The barn caught fire previously on April 1 about four years ago, the owner said.
