Three people were transported by Indian Lake EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries related to a crash Thursday afternoon, Oct. 2, at state routes 235 and 274.
Drivers Riley Croghan, 26, of Huber Heights, and Michelle Michelle Schaefer, 57 of Huntsville, along with a juvenile passenger from Schaefer’s’vehicle were transported to the hospital, officers of the Washington Township Police Department report.
Officers were dispatched about 1:15 p.m. to the intersection in reference to an injury accident.
Investigation revealed a northbound vehicle on S.R. 235 driven by Croghan failed to stop at a red light.
Croghan’s vehicle struck a westbound vehicle on S.R. 274 operated by Schaefer.
Both vehicles suffered heavy damage. The Indian Joint Fire District, Top’s Towing and Wren’s Towing assisted at the scene.
Traffic stop nets drug charge
Tracie Barber, 46, of Lakeview, was charged with possession of drugs related to a traffic stop about 4:50 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department on patrol on Township Road 239 near U.S. Route 33 conducted a traffic stop on Barber for a turn signal violation.
Upon making contact with Barber, signs of drug use were observed. The defendant consented to a search of her person and a vile of methamphetamine was located inside of her pocket.
Officers said she was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail.
