2 transported from 3-vehicle crash

Drivers Ashley Moore, 39, of Bellefontaine, and Timothy A. Pond, 58, of Bellefontaine, each were transported by Huntsville EMS and Bellefontaine EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected serious injuries following a crash Tuesday, Oct. 24.

Deputies report Moore was operating a northbound 2011 Chevrolet Equinox on County Road 130 and she attempted to make a left turn into the parking lot of Spartan Nash, 4067 C.R. 130, Bellefontaine.

She reportedly failed to yield to a southbound 2013 Ford F-150 operated by Pond and her sport utility vehicle struck Pond’s pickup.

Sandra L. Vernon, 69, of Lakeview, also was operating a northbound 2009 Ford Escape and she stopped to avoid the collision, but made contact with the Moore vehicle. She did not report any injuries.

Moore was cited for failure to yield the right of way when turning left. Damage was heavy to the first two vehicles and light to the Ford Escape. The drivers were wearing their seat belts.

Victoria L. Blackburn, 38, of Zanesfield, was cited for failure to control related to a non-injury crash Friday afternoon, Oct. 20.

Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report she was operating a southbound 2017 Toyota Prius on County Road 5 about 4:20 p.m. in the area of County Road 29 when she traveled off the right side of the road, striking a telephone pole and a C.R. 5 road sign.

Damage was heavy to the car, which was towed from the scene. The driver was wearing her seat belt.

• Derek T. Gardner, 38, of Bellefontaine, also was cited for failure to control following a crash Tuesday.

Deputies report he was operating an eastbound Ford F-150 in the 9300 block of County Road 11 about 10:50 p.m. when he went off the left side of the road, down a steep embankment into a wooded area. The pickup came to a final rest against a tree.

Damage was heavy to the pickup, which was towed from the scene.
