Judge Kevin P. Braig of the Logan County Court of Common Pleas sentenced two people to prison this week on crimes of violence and drug trafficking.

Wednesday, July 31, Judge Braig sentenced Tyrell Artis to four years in prison on convictions of domestic violence and abduction, both felonies of the third degree.

Artis committed both offenses while he was on post-release control supervision after he completed serving a prior prison sentence, officials report.

Logan County Assistant Prosecutor Nathan Yohey requested a maximum sentence of a little over seven years for the defendant. Columbus-based defense attorney John Paul Rion requested Artis be put on community control and complete programming at West Central Community Based Correctional Facility.

Thursday, August 1, Judge Braig sentenced Tina Hoffman to three to 4.5 years in prison on her convictions on aggravated possession of drugs, a felony of the second degree, and trafficking cocaine, a felony of the fifth degree.
