2 BHS DECA teams advance to state

The Bellefontaine High School DECA team shined at the District Competition at the University of Findlay this week.

Two BHS teams qualified for state: Alek Miller and Marco Martinez, second place, Sports & Entertainment; and Lauren Valdez and Averie Vigansky, third place, Buying & Merchandising.

Other notable awards included: Harper Scott, Kinsley Scott and Mia Oppy, third place, Start Up Business; Austin Hammond and Jack Varner, fourth place, Travel & Tourism; and Mika Beck and Parker Knox, fourth place, Hospitality Services.

The following Chiefs competed also competed: Haiden Manns, Owen Sellars, Owen Larison and Dylan Pickering

The DECA State Competition takes place at the Columbus Convention Center March 8-9.
