A Bellefontaine woman was injured Sunday when she fell from her sport utility vehicle while trying to stop it from rolling backwards into traffic.
Eileen M. Lee, 81, told officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department she thought she shifted her SUV into park in the drive of her residence in the 1500 block of south Main Street around 7:35 p.m. It started to roll backwards and she attempted to stop it with the door open but fell.
It rolled into a trailer towed behind a pickup truck operated by Matthew R. Hedden, 35, of Lawton, Okla.
Damage was light to the vehicles.
Lee was transported from the scene by a Bellefontaine squad to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected serious injuries.
