Triad’s girls basketball team picked up its first win of the season Thursday with a 43-35 victory over host Northeastern during an Ohio Heritage Conference meeting.
The Cardinals are now 1-2 overall and 1-1 in the OHC North standings, while the Jets remain winless at 0-7, 0-4.
Triad grabbed a 12-6 lead after the first quarter and the Cardinals led 20-16 at halftime.
The Cardinals stayed in front with a 33-30 advantage after three periods. The Cardinals pulled away in the final period with a 12-5 run.
Cati LeVan sparked the Cardinals with 18 points and seven rebounds, Abby Walls tallied eight points, Olivia Butz had six points and Olivia Babanova grabbed 12 rebounds.
Triad hosts Fairbanks on Saturday for another OHC matchup.
