Myles Z. Mills, 27, of Reynoldsburg, was charged with a felony count of possession of a controlled substance as a result of a traffic stop Sunday afternoon along U.S. Route 33.
His passenger Karen K. Gonce, 53, of Celina, also was issued a summons for possession of drug paraphernalia and open container in a motor vehicle.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint regarding Mills’ vehicle about 4:10 p.m., with the caller stating that the vehicle was blocking traffic in the left lane. Deputies located the vehicle in the area of U.S. 33 and County Road 57 and initiated the stop.
Along with Mills and Gonce, deputies noted that Mills’ children, ages 1 and 2, also were passengers in the vehicle.
Deputies detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and requested a consent search.
From the vehicle, deputies seized plastic baggies containing suspected marijuana, baggies labeled as candy infused with THC and cylinders with liquid THC, along with open containers of alcohol and a glass smoking device.
Deputies also observed that Mills displayed signs of intoxication and he submitted to field sobriety testing. He was placed under arrest and was transported to the Logan County Jail. The defendant refused to submit to a breath test.
A report will be forwarded to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office for additional charges against Mills, including child endangering, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and open container in a motor vehicle, along with potential charges against Gonce.
