Riverside junior Ethan Burrows was recognized for his stellar football season by being selected to the all-Northwest Central Conference squad.
Burrows was named to the first-team offense as a guard, while also being named to the first-team defense as a linebacker. He registered 105 tackles on defense.
There were 11 other area players that garnered all-league honors.
Earning second-team offense awards were Riverside’s Kale Long, Ethan Jackson and Max Stephens and Ridgemont’s Jadon Miller.
Landing second-team defensive spots were the Pirates’ Long and the Gophers’ Tyrese Patterson.
Receiving honorable mention awards for Riverside were Levi Godwin, Deven Frilling and Walker Whitaker and Ridgemont’s Levi Beiler, Austin Elsasser and Jayden Streets.
Lima Perry won the NWCC championship this season with a perfect 7-0 record and qualified for the state playoffs. The Commodores swept the major all-league awards. Dan Baker was named NWCC coach of the year, Chazz Jackson was named offensive player of the year and Devares Glenn was the defensive player of the year. Jackson earned all-league spots in four different areas for Perry. He was named first-team offense (wide receiver), first-team defense (defensive back), second-team offense (kicker) and second-team defense (punter).
Making up the rest of the first-team offense were Perry’s Ryan Yingst, Hunter Klett and Demarion Gibson, Hardin Northern’s Owen Wetherill, Daylin Pees, Kobee Hooker and Lance Good, Waynesfield-Goshen’s Joel Rickel, Kyle Searson and Joshua Kirchner, Lehman Catholic’s Brendan O’Leary, Conner Stewart and Ethan Potts and Upper Scioto Valley’s Jackson Rohrs.
The remaining first-team defensive picks were Perry’s Gibson and Glenn, Hardin Northern’s Pees, Zach Warmbrod and Nevin Robson, Upper Scioto Valley’s Connor Sanders, W-Goshen’s Tye Little and Searson and Lehman’s John Edwards and Drew Barhorst.
Rounding out the second-team offense were Perry’s Cameron Dalton and Elijah Caudill, Hardin Northern’s Frank McCoy and W-Goshen’s Cole Schlegel and Austin Birt.
Others landing on the second-team defense were Perry’s Keaton Miller, Jaquarius Austin, Hunter Klett and Brayden Owens, Upper Scioto Valley’s Nick Coughenour and Evan Thompson, Hardin Northern’s Lance Good, McCoy and Wetherill and W-Goshen’s Evan Miller.
Receiving honorable mention awards were Perry’s Andre Clavell, Tim Hendley and Terry Riley, Lehman’s Danny Lins, Landon McIver and Seth Peoples, Hardin Northern’s Brayden Flowers, Brock Hipsher and Ayden Mundy, Elgin’s Evan Backensto, Kevin Kline and Joel Minton, Upper Scioto Valley’s Kadyn Hurley and Devan Sousley and W-Goshen’s Blake Barnes, Layton Campbell and Cooper Roberts.
