Benjamin Logan’s volleyball team pulled out a thrilling win over Kenton Ridge in a marathon of a Division II sectional tournament match Tuesday at Tecumseh High School.
The Raiders won the first game 25- 21, the Cougars prevailed 26-24 in the second game before Ben Logan took the third game 31-29.
Kenton Ridge stayed alive with a 25-22 win in the fourth game, but Ben Logan finished off the Cougars with a 15-11 win in the fifth and decisive game.
Ben Logan (17-6) advances to face Greenville (14-8) at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Tecumseh in the sectional semifinal.
The Cougars end their season at 10-13.
Molly Vance powered the Raiders with 21 kills and Kylie Frazier also had a big night with 15 kills, 17 assists and 15 digs.
Corinne Herring sparked the Raiders’ defense with 26 digs, Jillian Plikerd had 20 digs, Bailey Shope had 22 digs, nine kills and three blocks and Lynzee Cronkleton added 16 assists.
Triad falls to Ft. Laramie Triad’s volleyball team was overwhelmed against the defending state champion Ft. Loramie on Tuesday to start Division IV tournament action at Troy High School.
The top-seeded Redskins bounced the 22nd-seeded Cardinals 25-6, 25-14, 25-7. They play Jefferson on Saturday in a sectional semifinal.
For the Cardinals, Holly Avoid had six points, one kill and one dig, Kelsey Cole had six points, one kill and two digs, Jordyn Unger had five points, two kills and two digs, Kendell Hughes had three points, three kills, one block and eight digs, Bailey Perry had two points and three digs and Emma Dorn had two points and a dig.
