The Fraternal Order of Police Hi Point Lodge 60 announces that organization representatives are currently working with Logan County and Bellefontaine City officials to secure a new location for the proposed memorial to honor Logan County law enforcement officers who have been killed in the line of duty.
The FOP Lodge had previously worked with the Logan County Commissioners on securing a construction site on county property in the 100 block of N. Main Street, formerly the Carnegie Library. This property is up for sale by the Logan County Commissioners, which makes it no longer a viable construction site for the proposed Logan County Law Enforcement Memorial.
Representatives expect to announce the new location for the construction of the Logan County Law Enforcement Memorial soon. Planning and fundraising for the construction of the memorial continues to move forward, with a goal of raising $150,000.
“We thank our donors for their support of this project and we look forward to continued community support to bring this noble community project to fruition,” officials said in a release.
Previously detailed plans have call for a black granite wall on which bronze plaques will be mounted with the names of the fallen law enforcement officers.
Donations may be made to Fraternal Order of Police, Hi-Point Lodge 60, P.O. Box 277, Bellefontaine, OH, 43311, (937) 599-1010.
The lodge is a 501c3 organization.
