Aaron R. Hobart, 38, of 206 Fairview Ave., Russells Point, was charged Saturday with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and possession of marijuana after a 10:35 p.m. traffic stop on Township Road 216 west of County Road 18.
Logan County Prosecutor Eric Stewart called dispatchers as he observed Hobart in a northbound pickup truck on U.S. Route 68 swerving and leaving the both sides of the road.
An officer of the responded in time to watch Hobart turn from Main Street onto Allen Road. He pursued the pickup to conduct the stop.
Upon contact, the officer detected an odor of alcohol and noted Hobart’s eyes were watery, glassy and bloodshot.
Field sobriety tests indicated he was impaired but he did not submit to chemical tests.
He was cited for no operator’s license and marked lanes violations before he was released to a sober relative.
