Bellefontaine’s girls basketball team overcame a slow start Wednesday to dominate visiting Northwestern 45-17.
The Chieftains boost their record to 3-1, while the Warriors drop to 1-2.
It was a slow start to the game as Bellefontaine led 5-2 after one quarter.
Bellefontaine broke open the game in the second period with a 13-3 run to take an 18-5 halftime lead.
The Chieftains pushed their lead to 36-11 after three quarters.
Lexxi Gorham paced Bellefontaine with 12 points, Tayteum Vigansky had eight points and Taizha Collier and Enya Mitchell each had six points.
Northwestern won the junior varsity game 49-42. Katie Pool led the Chieftains with 16 points.
Bellefontaine hosts Springfield Shawnee on Saturday for a Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail matchup. The junior varsity game begins at 11 a.m. with the varsity contest to start around 12:30 p.m.
