Triad’s girls basketball team got off to a rocky start against visiting Greeneivew on Thursday and saw the Rams run away for a 61-35 win in Ohio Heritage Conference action.
The Cardinals fall to 2-12 overall and 2-8 in the league, while the Rams improve to 6-9, 4-6.
Greeneview took control from the opening whistle with a 17-7 run in the first quarter. Triad matched Greeneview 14-14 in the second quarter, but still trailed 31-21 at the break.
The Rams continued to pull away in the third quarter with a 16-8 run, which made it a 47-29 score.
Frani LeVan led an all-around effort for Triad with 12 points, six rebounds, three steals and three assists. Cati Levan also had 12 points with four steals and Abby Walls added six rebounds.
Triad travels to West Jefferson on Saturday for another Ohio Heritage Conference game.
