Bellefontaine’s boys soccer team repeated as the Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail division champions this fall and that led to a large presence for the Chiefs on the recently released all-league team.
There were 18 local players that earned all-league honors, led by Bellefontaine’s Nate Hecker, who was selected as the Kenton Trail division player of the year.
Hecker earned a spot on the Kenton Trail first team along with Chieftain teammates Dakota Shell, Jacob Shell and Jackson Strzalka.
Second-team selections for the KT division went to Bellefontaine’s Isaiah Henry, Preston Henry and Ryan Johnson. A special mention honor went to the Chiefs’ Kane Adkins.
Earning spots on the Mad River division first-team squad were Benjamin Logan’s Joseph Gulick, Henry Myers and Dylan Welch and Indian Lake’s Darrick Curtis.
Landing on the MR second team were the Raiders’ Caleb Epp, Vance McClanahan and Blaine Worden along with the Lakers’ Reid Vance. Special mention nods went to Ben Logan’s Michael Rostorfer and Indian Lake’s Austin Tron.
Local players recognized with sportsmanship awards were Bellefontaine’s Nathaniel Schmid, Ben Logan’s McClanahan and Indian Lake’s Alex Angles.
Other second-team selections included Alder’s Kent Gringerich, Lucas Shelley and Matt Stock, Kenton Ridge’s Blain Dotson and Xane Grigsby, Shawnee’s Graysen Weller and Aiden Willis, London’s Ashton Wolford and Tecumseh’s Parker Randenburg.
The rest of the special mention list included Alder’s Cam LaFayette, Kenton Ridge’s Kellen Kronour, London’s Ethan Hastings, Shawnee’s Travis Wilder and Tecumseh’s Emmanuel Gutierrez.
Northwestern’s Ethan Miller was tabbed the Mad River division player of the year.
Rounding out the Mad River first-team list were Graham’s Owen McGuffey, Christian Rembold and Ryan St. Meyers, Northwestern’s Jansen Jenkins, Christian Kaffenbarger and Miller and Urbana’s Austin Rooney and Daniel Wescott.
Earning second-team selections were Graham’s Sean Brock, Kurt Rembold and Nathan Ryman, Northwestern’s Bryant Burton, Spencer Fushino and Brenden Wildman and Urbana’s Atticus Bloemhard and Landon Key.
Filling out the special mention list were Graham’s Andrew Robeson, Northwestern’s Logan Howard and Urbana’s Otto Johnson.
