West Liberty-Salem’s girls basketball team poured in the points during the first half against visiting Northeastern on Saturday and cruised to a 64-12 Ohio Heritage Conference victory.
The Tigers improve to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in the OHC North standings, while the Jets remain winless at 0-6, 0-3.
WL-Salem came out red hot in the first quarter with a 31-0 run. The Tigers delivered a 22-5 run in the second quarter to race ahead 53-5 at halftime.
The third quarter saw the Tigers shut out the Jets 11-0, which helped them build a 64-5 cushion.
Selena Weaver sparked the Tigers with 22 points and nine rebonds, Grace Estes had 20 points and Emily Hollar and Gabby Williams each had seven points.
In junior varsity action, WL-Salem rolled past Northeastern 36-14. Kayla Cole had 12 points to pace the Tigers.
WL-Salem hosts West Jefferson on Thursday for another OHC contest.
