West Liberty-Salem’s boys and girls track and field teams won the Champaign County meet on Monday in Urbana. In the boys meet, the Tigers recorded 138 points to edge Mechanicsburg (130). Urbana was third with 38, Graham took fourth (25) and Triad was fifth (22).
Winning events for the WL-S boys were Jack Bahan in the 200 (23.08), Troy Bradley in the 400 (52.14), Quentin Rudolph in the 800 (2:05.67), Jackson Steider in the 110 hurdles (16.25), Mark Bair in the shot put (42-6.5) and discus (151-8), Craig Stanford in the pole vault (12-0), the 400 relay team of Henderson, Bahan, Steider and Myers (45.39) and the 800 relay team of Henderson, Troy Bradley, Lauck and Myers (1:35.98).
Finishing in second for the Tigers were Brevin Louden in the 400 (54.07), Taryn Bradley in the 300 hurdles (43.84), Casey Boyer in the high jump (5-10), Slayde Merriman in the pole vault (11-6) and the 1,600 relay team of Louden, Taryn Bradley, Lauck and Henderson (3:55.01).
Taking third for the WL-S boys were Bahan in the 100 (11.38), Troy Bradley in the 200 (23.29), Asher Knox in at the 3,200 (10:07.12), Lucas Merriman in the pole vault (10-0) and the 3,200 relay team of Carter, Quentin Rudolph, Barger and LaRoche (9:39.8).
Finishing in fourth for the Tigers were Tanner Myers in the 200 (24.35), Asher Knox in the 1,600 (4:34.67), Hunter Knotts in the high jump (5-4) and Steider in the long jump (17-2).
Adding fifth-place efforts for WL-S were Brad Petry in the 100 (12.06), Jake Lauck in the 400 (55.7), Dylan King in the 1,600 (4:41.46), Joey LaRoche in the 3,200 (10:31.51), Taryn Bradley in the 110 hurdles (17.97), Isaiah Reminder in the 300 hurdles (48.84), Bryant Eaton in the discus (96-9) and Knotts in the long jump (16-5.25).
In the girls meet, the Tigers won with 125 points. Mechanicsburg was a distant second with 63 points, Graham took third (61), Triad was fourth (56) and Urbana was fifth (48).
Individual champions for the Lady Tigers were Tori Douthwaite in the pole vault (9-06), Delaney Jones in the 100 (12.27), Sophia Hardwick in the 300 hurdles (48.51), the 3,200 relay team of Lily Smith, Mariska Smith, Mylee Dooley and Taylor Kennedy (11:22.9) and the 400 relay team of Douthwaite, Chloe Griffith, Alaina Irving and Claire Longshore (52.91).
Placing second for the Tigers were Sophia Hardwick in the discus (105-02) and 100 hurdles (16.80) Elise Longshore in the pole vault (8-06), Mallory Bostick in the 400 (1:02.92), Hattie Jacobs in the 300 hurdles (51.44), Gwen McCullough in the 800 (2:35.69), Ashley Yoder in the 3,200 (12:39.28), the 800 relay team of Sophia Hardwick, Hattie Jacobs, Claire Longshore and Gwen McCullough (1:52.23) and the 1,600 relay team of Hattie Jacobs, Mariska Smith, Gwen McCullough and Mallory Bostick (4:22.38) Taking third for the Tigers were Irving in the 100 hurdles (16.92) and 300 hurdles (54.74) and Malia Miller in the 1,600 (5:40.29) and 800 (2:37.73).
Finishing fourth were Claire Longshore in the 100 hurdles (17.59), Griffith in the 100 (13.25), Kennedy in the 1,600 (6:12.27), Addie McAuley 3,200 (12:52.97) and Mallory Bostick in the 200 (28.5).
Rounding out the scorers in fifth place were Claire Longshore in the high jump (4-04), Griffith in the long jump (13-05), Isabella Hardwick in the shot put (28-09) and Douthwaite in the 100 (13.70) and 200 (28.65).
