OSU secondary searching for an identity

A football coach once said “Sometimes the problem with having everyone back ... is that you have everyone back.” Ohio State football fans hope that this does not reflect the current state of the 2012 Ohio State defensive backfield.

OSU returns five players who have started at least nine games in their Ohio State careers. Each player has made contributions for the Scarlet and Gray, but each has had bouts of inconsistency. Inconsistencies from defensive backs often lead to touchdowns for opposing offenses. 

The unit is headlined by second team All-Big Ten safety C.J. Barnett (6-1, 202). Barnett, a junior out of Dayton Northmont, led the Buckeyes with 75 tackles a year ago.
