Hormann receives honor from WL-Salem

West Liberty-Salem senior Landon Hormann was named the school’s athlete of the week.

Hormann, a standout on the basketball team, scored 27 points in the Tigers’ win over Waynesville in the sectional semifinal and had 16 points in the sectional final game against Anna.

BHS graduate wins NCAC indoor title

Bellefontaine High School graduate Sarah Bechtel, a junior at Ohio Wesleyan, won the pole vault competition Friday at the North Coast Athletic Conference indoor championships.

Bechtel cleared 11-5 3/4 to take the top spot in the pole vault.

The meet was hosted by the College of Wooster.
